Paediatric scans

A number of paediatric problems can be imaged with ultrasound including hip dysplasia, tethered cord, malrotation, undescended testes, pyloric stenosis and appendicitis. On top of this, paediatric sonography is often used to follow up findings from in utero such as hydronephrosis. Paediatric imaging encompasses all types of ultrasound up to puberty.

There is generally no preparation required, but this depends on the age of the child, so please check with the receptionist when booking your scan.
